Business Tips
Expert tips and reminders to keep you well-informed.
Here at Cornerstone we encourage our clients to use online resources to help manage their business in the most efficient way possible. Let’s talk about two communication tools.
#1 Use Skype for Business
Skype allows you to make free phone calls from your computer to another computer, as well as reasonably priced calls from your computer to a landline telephone.
It’s likely that you use Skype for personal calls, but did you know it’s also great for businesses of all sizes to use for conference calls, video calls and instant messaging?
3 reasons you should consider Skype for your business:
- Help build trusted working relationships by meeting face-to-face using video and conference calls.
- Collaborate in real-time with colleagues and customers all over the world and save money on calls.
- Boost productivity by having instant access to your staff and clients for reporting, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Visit the Skype website for more details.
#2 Save Money on your Electricity Bills
Electricity bills are on the rise and can now contribute to a considerable portion of your yearly expenses.
Make It Cheaper is a website dedicated to providing price comparisons for many electricity and gas suppliers. Simply select the Business button on the home page and then follow the prompts to find out how your bill could be reduced.
Visit the Make It Cheaper website for more details.
If you require any further information related to these services please call us and we will direct you to the best person to provide the most accurate advice.
What’s New?
Big news and events from the Cornerstone office.
1. Xero Online Accounting.
Xero was the very first company to combine cloud accounting software and linking with bank accounts to create bank feeds.
This fantastic feature allows you to reconcile most of your bank transactions automatically. Once you set up your bank and credit card feeds you will always have a complete and up-to-date view of your business.
Cornerstone is a certified silver advisor with Xero. We can set you up with an account and help you use it to your advantage to make cloud accounting as seamless and efficient as possible.

2. ADP Payroll.
ADP is the new payroll system used by Cornerstone. We find it a highly effective and streamlined way to manage the complicated process of paying our clients’ staff members.
Many Cornerstone clients have already moved over to ADP and our friendly team would be more than happy to discuss how you can take advantage of this service too.
If you see any of these initiatives being useful for your business then get in touch with the Cornerstone team via email or call us on (02) 9386 1427.
